About Susie (Louden) Orchard
Susie Orchard grew-up in Larchmont, New York in the idyllic 1950s. She was a scholarship recipient to an all girls’ private high school in Rye, New York. Upon graduation, she became one of the first female undergraduates admitted to Fairfield University in Connecticut. She graduated in the mid-1970s with a teaching degree.
Susie’s first career was in the employment industry. Over a period of 25 years she went from working for a private placement company to the owner of an 11-person personnel consulting firm. Her client list included such “household name” corporations as Tetley Tea, Proctor & Gamble, Chesebrough Ponds, IBM, and Verizon. Many client companies were international firms like Tetra Pak, Saab Scania, and Cadbury Schwepps. She assisted with both corporate relocations and corporate down-sizing. Susie was selected to deliver outplacement services for the telephone company in New Haven , CT when they experienced the first lay-off in their history. She has also created and presented training programs for multi-national employers.
Susie relocated to Florida in 1995 and recruited technology professionals for the software and telephony industries.
After years of “watching” houses for neighbors and friends, she officially incorporated in 2006 under the name “A Helpful Neighbor, Inc”. Since that time, Susie devotes her time to taking care of customer priorities, properties, projects, as well as coaching career changes when contracted.
She enjoys sailing, photography, international travel (when possible), sewing, reading, good wine and cooking. She lives in Jupiter with her husband, a corporate pilot (G-IV) and their Scottie dog – Rooney.
